Olamilekan ‘Laycon’ Agbeleshe, winner of the 2020 edition of the Big Brother Naija (BBNaija), has been conferred with the traditional title of Akeweje of Ipokia kingdom, Ogun state.
The talented rapper got the chieftaincy title from Yisa Adesola Olaniyan, the Onipokia of Ipokia, on Sunday during the 2021 Opo Day celebration held at District High School.
During the title installation, the onipokia praised Laycon as an indigene of Ipokia who “truly deserved the title of Akeweje.”
Apparently thrilled, the outspoken entertainer took to his Twitter page to break the news to his numerous fans alongside a video clip from the installation ceremony.
“Chief Olamilekan Agbeleshe, Akeweje Odo of Ipokia kingdom, president of the iCONs,” he wrote.
In another tweet, he revealed that his mother is an alumna of the school where the chieftaincy ceremony was held.
“Fun Fact: The venue where I was given my chieftaincy title is District High School, Ipokia, where my Mum schooled. On every transcendental being that is valid,” he added.
On October 6, 2020 he was appointed the youth ambassador, gifted a three-bedroom apartment and sum of N5 million by Dapo Abiodun, governor of Ogun state.
