The question on the lips of Nigerians is whether President Bola Tinubu will order security operatives to shoot as they did against EndSars protesters on a peaceful demonstration waving the national flag.

In this case, it’s a protest against hunger not SARS brutality. Definitely one is more lethal than the other.

In this short analysis, TheNewsGuru.com, TNG Africa’s most authoritative online news channel will take a look at the genesis of the hunger crisis and its revelation after 14 months of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

The genesis of it all was when the most essential instrument that oils all sectors of the Nigerian economy (fuel subsidy) was suddenly thrown overboard on May 29th, 2023.

Energy even in the civilised climes where we go and copy and paste their policies subsidise it as it oils the wheels of development.

14 months down the line, the fuel subsidy has led to hunger and hunger respects no colour, race, religion or even ethnicity, all Nigerians are united against one common enemy, hunger.

To rub injury upon insult, a presidential jet, yacht and other luxuries are already in the backyard of Aso Rock.

The most popular foodstuff in Nigeria rice is N15K higher than the approved national minimum of N70k as a bag of locally produced rice now costs N85k.

Since organisers of the nationwide protests signposted their move to embark on peaceful demonstration, the Tinubu’s administration has not rested on its oars.

Various consultations and persuasions by government officials have been held but no successful headway as hunger harbours no friends.

Last week Thursday,Tinubu met with traditional rulers from the six geo-political zones and declared that he bought the presidency with his personal cash without the support of any cabal.

He equally promised trying everything within his reach to ensure that his reforms wear positive actions as he needs more time to properly checkmate the hunger situation.

The revelation today is that hunger has taken the space called Nigeria and the calls by those not feeling the pangs of hunger, the Nigerian politicians and hired NGOs, groups could not stop today’s demonstration.

The police has promised to be civil but the organisers are saying on no account should a protester be shot d3ad or the repercussion would be unbearable.
