Nigerian senator, Dafinone visit IDP camp in Delta

Ede Dafinone, the Senator Representing Delta Central in the 10th Senate on Thursday visited the Okuama IDP Camp in Ewu town, Ughelli South Local Government Area, Delta State.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that the Okuama community have been deserted after soldiers purportedly on a peace mission were gruesomely killed on March 14, 2024, prompting the military to lay siege to the community for several weeks.

The lawmaker during his earlier visit to assess the camp, provided cows, cartons of Indomie noodles, cartons of groundnut oil, and bags of garri in response to the protein shortage.

The Senator disclosed that he is actively engaging with the authorities after reports indicating that the military detained some Okuama residents.

Dafinone noted that he would ensure that these individuals received their civil rights and had the opportunity to defend themselves in court as required by Nigerian law.
