Onyinyechi Mark’s Gold medal win: A testament to Nigerian excellence – APC PWDs Leader, Bankole

The APC National Leader for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), Hon. Tolu Bankole, has congratulated Nigerian powerlifter, Onyinyechi Mark, for her outstanding achievement at the ongoing Paris Paralympics. Mark, 23, lifted an astounding 150kg in the women’s up to 61kg category, setting a new world record and securing Nigeria’s first gold medal at the event.

Bankole in a statement he personally signed said her feat, which surpasses the previous record held by fellow Nigerian Lucy Ejike, has filled the nation with immense pride and is a shining example of what can be accomplished with focus, determination, and unwavering commitment.

Hon. Bankole praised Onyinyechi’s historic win, saying, “Your remarkable achievement on the global stage exemplifies the incredible potential and talent of Nigerians, especially within the PWD community.

“You have not only brought home gold but also set a new world record that places you among the best in history. We celebrate your success and the honor you have brought to our great nation.”

The APC PWDs Leader also extended his congratulations to Esther Nworgu, who recently won a silver medal at the Paralympic Games. “Esther, your silver medal win is a source of immense pride for Nigeria.

” Your perseverance and dedication to your sport show the world the strength and resilience of Nigerian athletes. We are incredibly proud of you.”

Bankole urged other Nigerian athletes at the Paralympic Games to draw inspiration from the success of their peers and continue to represent the Nigerian flag with pride, saying, “You all have the talent and ability to soar to new heights.

” I encourage you to keep the tempo, remain focused, and give your best as you continue to showcase the greatness of our nation on the global stage. We are rooting for you, and we know that you will make us proud.”
