The Lagos State Police Command has finally arrested an Inspector caught on camera counting the N40,000 bribe received from a motorist.
Recall that TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) on Saturday reported how the policeman identified as Inspector Taloju Martin attached to Ago Police Station was extorting money from residents who had gone to stock their houses with essentials during the lockdown.
According to the victim who shared his story, the accused officer and his colleagues arrested motorists, seized their car keys and later asked them for N50,000 bribe each. The victim negotiated for N40,000 and the policeman agreed saying the DPO will get her cut of the bribe money. The victim withdrew the money from a nearby ATM and handed to Martin who eagerly counted the money within the station premises to be sure it was complete. It was during the process that the arrested motorist filmed him on video unawares.
