Popular American rapper is dead

Justin Riley, the Houston rapper cum music producer popularly known as BeatKing is dead.

BeatKing whose gruff delivery powered viral songs “Then Leave” and “Thick” died on Thursday, August 15, 2024, aged 39.

The news of his death was confirmed on Instagram by his manager, Tasha Felder but the cause has not been revealed.

Announcing the rapper’s demise, Felder wrote:

“Today, Aug. 15, 2024, we have lost BeatKing. BeatKing has been the best part of the club for over a decade.

“He has produced and worked with so many artistes that his sound will forever live.

“He loved his music, his daughters and his fans. We will love him forever”.

Born on November 24, 1984, BeatKing’s musical journey began in his childhood, when he played the drums alongside his mother, who was a church pianist.

His official entry into the music scene came in 2010 with the release of ‘Kings of the Club,’ featuring hits like ‘Crush,’ ‘Hammer,’ and ‘Lil TJones.’

However, his third solo album, ‘Club God,’ released in 2011, truly established him in the industry, thanks to the Billboard-charting single ‘You Ain’t Bout That Life.’

The late Houston singer is survived by two daughters and his partner, Talameshia.
