Popular Abuja-based cross-dresser known as Area Mama is dead.
According to reports, the cross-dresser was murdered in cold blood and dumped by the roadside on Thursday, August 8th, 2024.
In the viral photos that surfaced on social media, the cross-dresser is seen lifeless and covered with bruises sustained from the alleged beating he received before passing away.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the FCT command, SP Josephine Adeh, said ‘’It is true. We received a distress call of a dead body lying of an unknown lady found at Katampe Mabuchi expressway. It was when the police arrived at the scene that we discovered that it was a man in full female attire with blood all over his face’’
The FCT spokesperson noted that the body of Area mama was taken to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.
Area Mama’s death is coming barely a year after he was publicly assaulted during one of his outings in the nation’s capital.
The cross-dresser had narrated how a group of men beat him after having a dispute with a taxi driver who patronized his services.
In a video posted on social media, he showed off the blue-black eye he got from the physical assault.
