A photo of a large billboard endorsing President Bola Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election in the Federal Capital Territory, particularly along the bustling Area One sector, has surfaced on social media.

The gigantic billboard, which features images of President Tinubu and his wife Remi, carries the caption “Grassroots support for Tinubu 2027, the 1019 initiative.”

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports the preemptive show of support by grassroots comes despite the recent adjustment in petrol pump price at filling stations across the country by the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), widespread poverty, economic hardship, protest, high cost of food commodities amongst others.

Reacting, Nigerians on social media have expressed mixed reactions, with some viewing it as an early strategic move, while others express concern over its timing, as many termed it wrong, particularly with the many woes the country is currently undergoing.

Tunde Ribu Musa wrote: “We don’t need such billboard in any part of Nigeria. Tinubu have disappointed Nigerians even we the yoruba are crying bitterly. Pull down any board with tulumbu picture.”

“Tinubu = fake degree, drugs, 419, Yahoo Boys, fake passport,’’ another user, Metro -RSA wrote

At as of the filing of this report, no official statement from President Tinubu regarding his intent to seek a second term has been publicised yet.
