Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs arrested in New York after federal indictment

Renowned hip-hop mogul, Sean “Diddy” Combs, was arrested in New York on Monday following a recent indictment by a federal grand jury.

According to reports, officers with Homeland Security Investigations arrested the 54-year-old hip-hop mogul  at the hotel where he was staying, in the Park Hyatt New York on 57th Street.

A  U.S. Attorney Damian Williams also confirmed that rapper is now in custody, with more details expected to be revealed once the indictment is unsealed.

While the charges against Combs are unclear, Williams said “we expect to move to unseal the indictment in the morning and will have more to say at that time”.

Since November 2023, Diddy has been in the public eye after several women, including the rapper’s ex girl friend, Cassie Venture took him to court, claiming they were sexually assaulted.

 Diddy’s former producer, Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, also dragged the rapper to court, alleging that the rapper sexually harassed, drugged, and threatened him for over a year.

In March, the United States Department of Homeland Security raided two properties linked to Diddy.

In May, a video surfaced showing Combs assaulting Cassie in 2016.

Diddy, who had denied Cassie’s claims, however, apologised. He said he was “truly sorry” and that his actions were “inexcusable”.

A Michigan inmate was recently awarded $100 million for a sexual assault lawsuit against Diddy by default judgment.
