Vice presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Senator Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed has said there is a crown on the head of the presidential candidate of the party, Peter Obi already.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Senator Baba-Ahmed said this shortly after he was unveiled as the vice presidential candidate of the Labour Party for the 2023 presidential election.
Baba-Ahmed and Obi were spotted standing beside each other and cracking jokes about caps when the presidential candidate said he would need to wear a cap.
When Obi said: “I have to go and find a cap, a red cap and put on”, the newly unveiled vice presidential candidate joked: “There’s a crown there already” in response.

Following the unveiling of Senator Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed as the running mate to Peter Obi, below are quick facts you should know about him:
- Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed was born to the Baba-Ahmed family in Zaria, Kaduna State.
- He is among thirty-three children of his father, Baba Ahmed, who was an Arab cattle-trader from modern-day Mauritania, who later became a notable professor and expert on Islamic jurisprudence.
- Baba-Ahmed is the founder of Baze University, Abuja and Baba-Ahmed University Kano.
- He was a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party until recently.
- Baba-Ahmed is in his 40s.
- He once represented Kaduna North senatorial district in the Senate.
- Baba-Ahmed holds a bachelor’s degree and Masters in Economics from the University of Maiduguri in Borno State.
- Obi’s running mate was once an employee of the security Printing and Minting, Lagos before venturing into politics.
- Baba-Ahmed was elected as a House of Representatives member for Zaria Federal Constituency on the platform of the All Nigeria Peoples Party in 2003.
- While in the position, he became known for speaking out against corruption and the Third Term Agenda of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
