Barely 48 hours after Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu approved a 21-year jail term for convicted cultists in the state, the Ikosi Ketu area of the state was embroiled in violence allegedly perpetrated by rival cult groups.
TheNewsGuru.com, TNG reports that Sanwo-Olu on Monday signed the bill for the Prohibition of Unlawful Societies and Cultism 2021 into Law at Lagos House, Ikeja.
However, residents of the area woke up to a disturbing Wednesday morning when the rampaging cultists started running after each other with cutlasses, bottles and other dangerous weapons.
According to viral videos that surfaced online early Wednesday morning, the hoodlums had a field despite the presence of policemen.
