A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, Mr Dawandakpoye Christopher Ejoh has said the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori deserves applause from all Deltans for bringing Julius Berger to the State to construct road projects.

Mr Ejoh, a PDP councillorship hopeful for Delta State Ward 20, said this on Sunday during a consultative visit to the ward chairman and ward executives of the party in Ugbokodo, Okpe local government area of the State.

Recall that the State government had awarded four projects to Julius Berger in Uvwie and Warri South local government areas of the State. Governor Oborevwori had carried out a groundbreaking ceremony of the N77.9 billion road and flyover projects awarded to Julius Berger Nigeria PLC.

The projects are the design and construction of a flyover bridge from Enerhen Junction, Effurun to Marine Gate, Warri in Uvwie and Warri South LGAs; the design and construction of road expansion and improvement works on the Section Of DSC/NPA expressway from Effurun Roundabout To DSC Roundabout on the Effurun/Patani (East/West) highway.

The projects also include constructing a three-quarter Cloverleaf Interchange at the existing Effurun Flyover Bridge as well as two pedestrian bridges in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area, and the design and construction of flyover bridge at PTI Junction, on the Effurun/Patani (East/West) Highway, Effurun in Uvwie Local Government Area.

Speaking during the consultative visit, Ejoh said: “Our Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has done so well within the short time he has been in office. The number of projects he has executed within the space of time he is governor tells of his quality as a leader.

“Even his projects, for him bringing Julius Berger to work in Delta State, I believe the whole State should give him applause. He is just getting started and I strongly believe he will do better”.

The councillorship aspirant disclosed that he was in Ugbokodo to visit his ward excos, comprising Ughoton and Ugbokodo. He expressed appreciation to the ward executives for finding time to receive him.

A cross-section of party members who spoke during the visitation expressed confidence in the capacity of Ejoh to represent the ward as a councillor.

“Mr Ejoh is a very humble man with a big heart. He loves to carry people along, and with a unique personality. Supporting Ejoh is a wise decision and the best choice, not just for the party but for the community and even the local government at large,” Mr Isaac Oboh said.

Speaking in a similar vein, Mrs Ese Pupu said: “We are here in respect of our brother who is coming out for councillor in 2024. Ejoh is a nice person and open-minded. I know people he has taken from the streets. He is the kind of person we want to represent us”.
