About four Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) members were eliminated by troops of the Nigerian Army on Monday in Imo state the NewsGuru.com can confirm
The fighters were before their death operating under IPOB armed affiliate, Eastern Security Network (ESN) in the Southeast region.
There was exchange of power at Amaifeke and Ihioma in Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State before the Army operatives overpowered the ESN men and killed four while others escaped with serious gun shot injuries.
It was gathered that the IPOB/ESN boys were already threatening lives and properties in the state before the troops from 34 Brigade Obinze gat a distress call and they responded by trailing the attackers and killed four.
In a statement, Army spokesman, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu said the gang opened fire on sighting the patrol team.
Nwachukwu noted that the soldiers engaged them, killed four while others escaped from the scene.
He added that the Items recovered from the group include one pump action gun, 10 live cartridges as well as a Toyota Hilux, adding that handsets and charms were also recovered.
The Army has appealed to the residents and indigenes to provide information that can lead to the arrest criminals living in the region.
