Bolaji Tunji, spokesman to late Sen. Abiola Ajimobi on Monday lambasted Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde for allegedly failing to honour his predecessor.
Ajimobi’s aide described Makinde as a Yoruba son who lacks a good upbringing ethos.
Recall that TNG reported how Florence, wife of the deceased politician had earlier expressed similar displeasure at the attitude of the Makinde-led administration to her family since the passage of her husband, saying the body language of the government was uncomplimentary.
In a series of posts on his official Facebook page, Bolaji Tunji, also made revelations to buttress his points of labeling Makinde as ill-mannered, one of which included a letter written by late Ajimobi to condole with Makinde-led government when he lost his Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Kehinde Ayoola.
His words: “Any attempt to spin falsehood against the Ajimobi family will not fly. We know what we know. If as you claimed that you could not get through by calls what stops you from sending a text. That would exonerate you. No one should play politics here. Flags at half-mast for a day?… After 8 years of service. Even for each of the terms would give you two days. It is the least you could have done. So what stopped an obituary advert in the newspaper, or you could not get in touch with the newspapers too? Foolish, irrational excuse.
“Those excuses will not fly, you cannot now start to whitewash what is not. We have always known that the ethos of Omoluwabi is seriously lacking. Yoruba ki fi ku yo ‘yan (Yoruba’s don’t mock the bereaved). Not coming from a younger person. A major defect in upbringing. Gloves are off.
