…says convocation of national security will help checkmate insecurity
Kingsley Uju Chima, a member of the House of Representatives on Friday said the minority leadership crisis that recently rocked the House is now a thing of the past.
Chima in a chat with journalists said” I have said it in different fora that the national Assembly is one big family and we can handle our internal affairs without external influence.
“The issue has been completely sealed and the House leadership is effectively running its affairs without interference from any quarter.
“I want to make a special appeal to you members of the fourth estate of the realm to always do your reports in a manner that it will not indicate crisis.
“This ninth House is not in a hurry to be at crisis with any arm of government as there are so many challenges on ground that really needs immediate solutions to move our country ahead.
“Insecurity as it stares us today knows no colour, Creed, race, language or tribe and there’s urgent need to solve solve these problems as soon as possible.
On the issue of insecurity in Nigeria, the I’m born lawmaker said:
“For us to adequately address this issue, there’s need for the Federal Government to convoke a national security summit where all shades of opinions will be properly addressed.
“The convocation of such a summit must be devoid of any influence or interference for it to be meaningful and generate the right results.
Adding that”there’s need to employ more security men and encourage community policing involving traditional rulers, clergymen, youths, applying the bottom up approach to avoid results security wise.
