The former managing director of SunTrust Bank, Mohammed Jibrin Barde, who resigned to contest the All Progressives Congress, APC guber primaries in Gombe has been appointed into the Presidential Campaign Council.
Recall that Barde was the first runner up to Muhammad Yahaya who clinched APC gubernatorial ticket at the party’s primary election held ahead of the 2019 general elections.
Barde’s letter of appointment dated January 14th, 2019 and signed by Adamu Adamu, Secretary, Presidential Campaign Council, read as follows:
“I am pleased to convey approval for your appointment as Deputy Director, Field Operations of the Presidential Campaign Council. You are to assist the Director, Field Operations whose responsibilities are to lead and implement the campaign’s GOTV effort, lead in the implementation of Election Monitoring Team’s Plan for the development of APC field agents to monitor the conduct and vote count on election day, organise and take control of training for zonal leaders, field agents and ward captains for Election Day monitoring and reporting back to the command Centre.
Your appointment which is on volunteer basis, takes effect from 7th January 2019.”
