President Muhammadu Buhari’s daughter, Zahra said his father (Buhari) is not the cause of the many sufferings face by Nigerians.
Zahra made the remarks on her Instagram story in reaction to the disturbing reports of alleged hoarding of COVID-19 palliatives in warehouses in several states, which ought to have been distributed to the poorest and most vulnerable people during the lockdown.
Her words: “Now that people confirmed that Buhari distributed enough palliatives nationwide, it is clear Buhari is not our problem”
Recall the media was awash with reports of angry Nigerians looting some of the warehouse where Covid-19 pallitives were stored – goods such as Indomie, rice, beans, others have been reportedly carted away in the process.
However, some state governments have denied hoarding the palliative meant for the masses.
Osun State government said it was waiting for officials from Abuja to “commission” the goods.
In Lagos, the Majority Leader of the House of Assembly, SOB Agunbiade, said he kept the palliatives in his home because they were scheduled for distribution on his birthday.
Meanwhile, the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project has asked the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission to investigate the circumstances surrounding the alleged hoarding of COVID-19 palliatives in several states
