Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, famously known as Portable will be arrested after an investigation is fully launched and competed against him over the One Million Boys comment he made a few days on goal on social media.
The spokesman of the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, made this in an interview he granted to newsmen on Thursday in Lagos.
Hundeyin stated that the command had yet to conclude a preliminary investigation on the matter, adding that the singer has a case to answer when the investigation is concluded.
Recall that the vociferous musician had in a now-deleted video, which went viral on Monday, boasted of forming One Million Boys and another notorious group known as Ajah Boys.
Following the development, the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, ordered Portable’s probe over his alleged ties to the notorious gang terrorizing Lagos and parts of Ogun State.
In a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi, Baba directed the Lagos Police Command to probe the singer over his ties to the cult groups.
“Sequel to the trending video of one Habeeb Okikiola aka Portable where he claimed to have formed the One-Million Boys cult group terrorizing some parts of Lagos State, the IGP has ordered CP Lagos to investigate the indicting statement and take necessary legal action.
“This directive is premised on the continuous effort of the Nigeria Police Force to fish out pillars and sponsors of cult groups to decimate their activities and restore sanity to our society,” the statement read.
The singer however retracted his statement hours later, saying that he was referring to his fans as One Million Boys.
