A chairmanship aspirant in Ethiope Local Government Area of Delta State, Augustine Usinefe Ogedegbe has been charged to court over the alleged invasion and illegal acquisition of land which belongs to a professor of Law (name withheld) at Okuodiete, Okpe LGA of Delta state.
A charge sheet filed by the complainant against Ogedegbe at a High Court in Sapele, Delta State partly reads: “Particulars of offence: Ogedegbe USINEFE AUGUSTINE ‘M’ and others now at large, within the aforementioned period and place and within the Sapele Criminal Judicial Division did without lawful authority, did threaten violence for the purpose of securing entry into the landlord property belonging Gentle JAJA Ventures Nigeria Limited, of Blok B, Kajola House, No. 62/64 Campbell Street, Lagos and chasing out its agent, one Marcus Agbugu.
“…STATEMENT OF OFFENCE: Conspiracy to commit an offence, to wit: Entering property by force or violence punishable under section 516A of the Criminal Code Law, Cap, C21, Vol. 1, laws of Delta State of Nigeria.”
The charge sheet dated 15th of August, 2020 was signed by J.S Oribhabor, Esq. the Legal Officer-in-Charge, Legal/Prosecution Section, Area Command Headquarters, Sapele, Delta State Police Command.
