It is the tithe debate again, and this time, it is coming from Ayodele Joseph Oritsegbubemi Oritsejafor, the Founding and Senior Pastor of Word of Life Bible Church, Warri, who says the payment of tithe flavours your labour with God’s favour.
“I know there are those who are telling you not to give your tithe. Don’t listen to them. They want to kill you,” he said.
Papa Ayo Oritsejafor, as popularly known, joined in the tithe debate while preaching on the message: “Power Passes Power” at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) 2017 Holy Ghost Congress themed: “Songs of Victory”.
The tithe debate has sparked major controversy in recent times, shaking the very foundation of tithe payments in the Christendom.
Pastor Oritsejafor, in his message, said people who don’t pay tithe cannot get promoted in their endeavours in life.
He narrated how a sister who worked with an oil firm for eight years without promotion brought all her salary to God and by divine arrangement received a double promotion at her place of work
As a result, “Every month, instead of paying 10% tithe, she began paying 20% tithe,” Oritsejafor said.
The popular Warri Pastor, who dazzled the congregation at the RCCG Camp Ground intermittently code-switched preaching his sermon in the Warri Pidgin, said there are labours that come without rewards.
“But when God flavours your labour with favour, you will begin to see results. It is a matter of God’s favour. Favour on its own is power.
“Your tithe is not about you. When you pay tithe, it’s not about you. It’s about your children, about your children’s children, it’s about your children’s children’s children.
“Don’t let anybody deceive you. When you look at yourself and you look at the man who says you shouldn’t pay tithe, you should be able to see a difference.
“When favour is working, there is no other power that can stop the favour of God,” he said.
The Word of Life Senior Pastor went further to say that apart from tithing, there are other ways Christians can activate the favour of God.
“Favour is divine. But man can activate it. By holy living, you can activate favour. By singing, by your praise, you can activate favour.
“But, I also say to you, by your giving, you can activate favour,” Oritsejafor told the RCCG congregation at the Redemption Camp Ground.
