Despite Special Counsel Robert Mueller ‘s investigative report which exonerated President Donald Trump of any collusion with Russia over United States 2016 presidential election, Democratic Congressional Committee has called on the US Attorney General to make the full report public.

Attorney-General Willam Bar, had in a summary of the Mueller report sent to the Congress

On Sunday said there was no collaboration between Trump’s campaign organization and Russia.

President Trump in his reaction to the Attorney-General’s letter to the Congress described the finding as Total exoneration.

The Special Counsel who submitted his report to the Attorney-General Friday evening after 22-month investigations which saw indictments and prosecution of some of Trump’s close associates was however silent on whether there was an obstruction of justice or not because it does not implicate or exonerate Trump.

House of Representatives Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler, had not only called for the full report to be made public, he hinted that the Congress may subpoena the Attorney-General to answer questions that he claimed, could lead the Congress to establish the truth in its on-going investigations of the president.

“In light of the very concerning discrepancies and final decision making at the justice Department following the special counsel report, where Mueller did not exonerate the President, we will be calling Attorney General Barr in to testify before the House Judiciary in the near future” said the Committee Chairman.

President Trump in his reaction to the Justice Department announcement on Mueller’s report said “This was an illegal takedown that failed and hopefully somebody’s going is to be looking at the other side,” the president added. “So it’s complete exoneration. No collusion, no obstruction.”

In his summary letter on the report which he wrote to the Congress, the attorney-general inter alia stated that “The report outlines the Russian effort to influence the election and documents crimes committed by persons associated with the Russian government in connection with those efforts. The report further explains that a primary consideration for the Special Counsel’s investigation was whether any Americans – including individuals associated with the Trump campaign – joined the Russian conspiracies to influence the election, which would be a federal crime. The Special Counsel’s investigation did not find that the Trump campaign or anyone associated with it conspired or coordinated with Russia in its efforts to influence the 2016 U.S. presidential election. As the report states: “The investigation did not establish that members of the Trump Campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities.”

There are insinuations that Barr, who was appointed attorney-general after Trump fired his predecessor Jeff Session, who recused himself from Mueller’s investigations, might be doing his appointor’s bidding . Attempt by the Democrats in the Congress to undo what the special counsel has done is however viewed as needless in some quarters.
