DC-23 pruning and the public outcries

The political atmosphere in the Country is tensed and heated with so many uncertainty in the air, both physically and of the course in the cyber space.

Each new day present itself a new thing that either causes public outcry or one that diverts the public attention from politics; The fact remains, each day present something the public talks about, either in the interest of the Country or otherwise.

Each political party like the People’s Democratic Party, the All Progressives Congress and the rest parties, are putting their houses in order to clinching an exalted position, either in the Federal or State level, in near forthcoming general election.

This is the time where big wigged politicians hovers around, scheming or jostling to occupying one position or the other either by self or in proxy.

However, no matter how big a political might be, there must be a candidate or aspirant the party MUST queue behind, to representing the party in the general election after careful selection ; Such selected candidate, must possess good leadership qualities ripe enough to representing the Country or State as the case may be, not one with questionable character that would bring the Country/ State to disrepute.

In Delta State PDP family, leaders of the party have none the less agreed to zoning the governorship seat to Delta Central, which is largely agreed upon by the vast majority of the leaders for equity, in order to having a balanced share of power rotation.

In as much as the Delta PDP family in Delta Central have some credible candidates, good enough to govern the State in its fold, jostling for the governorship position, they also have those with questionable character amongst them still jostling for same position.

In the light of this and prior to the PDP primary elections, a pressure group called Delta Central ( DC -23 ) was set up to screen the aspirants, which to the general public is a litmus test, you can call it integrity test on the part of the said screening committee, in giving Deltans a sellable candidate come 2023.

Sadly, half way into the final selection, shopping for who to succeed Governor Okowa from Delta Central, some candidates were screened out, each crying foul about how the selective process was done and their non acceptance of the judgment of DC-23, still on course in the race jettisoning the out come of DC-23.

Just recently, the self acclaimed and thorough bred DC-23, gave Deltans a rude shock in the release of their preferred candidates Deltans should look up to in the nearest possible future.

On seeing those who made the list, Deltans began to question the rational behind the screening exercise and what informed their ( DC -23 ) conclusion or judgment.

You cannot give what you don’t have, the DC-23 did not only goofed big time, they also failed the integrity by sacrificing JAMES AUGOYE, one of the most loved and accepted candidate and leading aspirant for their stomach infrastructure, thereby bringing the said committee to the lowest ebb.

Should the much talked about in the negative way sail through, Delta PDP faithful will have no choice than to lend their support to the other party.

The judgment of DC-23 is laughable and shouldn’t be taken seriously as their judgment doesn’t represent that of the vast majority of Deltans and that the leadership of the party had agreed that all the governorship aspirants would be given a level playing field, is enough thwarting of DC-23 stomach infrastructure result.

Governor Okowa rightly said Deltans cannot afford to have an irresponsible person as a Governor after him, which to a large extent, is agreed upon by all well meaning Deltans, going forward.
