The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) National Caretaker Committee (NCC) headed by Senator Ahmed Makarfi has suspended Senator Buruji Kashamu.
“The National Caretaker Committee (NCC) of our great Party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended Senator Buruji Kashamu for a period of one month,” the PDP said in a statement made available to TheNewsGuru.
By this development, Senator Kashamu has been barred from attending and participating in the events of the party’s convention that will hold today and tomorrow, the party said.
Senator Kashamu, who is representing Ogun East in the current 8th National Assembly, and also the Vice-Chairman of the Senate Committee on States and Local Government, was suspended on grounds the party did not mentioned.
The party promised to release details outlining why Senator Kashamu was suspended soonest.
In an earlier development, citing desecration of the polity with financial influence, aspirant Bode George announced withdrawal from the PDP national chairmanship race.
