The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has described the party primary election of 19th August, 2021 conducted to produce a flag-bearer to fill the vacant Isoko South Constituency 1 seat in the Delta State House of Assembly, as free, fair, credible and a family affair.
TheNewsGuru.com, (TNG) reports that former university lecturer and student activist, Dr. Ogaga Ifowodo won the primary election contested for the Isoko 1 State constituency held on Thursday, August 19, 2021.
The party in a statement approved by the State Chairman Caretaker Committee, Prophet Jones Ode Erue, not only described the process that brought the flag bearer as unprecedented and unparalleled in the history of political party primaries in the State, also urged all stakeholders to remain calm and sustain the existing peace being enjoyed in the party.
The party hailed the peaceful manner in which members went about to exercise their franchise in choosing who becomes the party’s standard bearer. The APC family is very proud and impressed with the high-level of acceptance by members of the party in Isoko nation and across the State. The party promised to bring smiles to the faces of Isoko people and deliver the dividends of Democracy to them.
The Delta APC reminded political actors and commentators that the conduct of party primaries and nomination of candidates, is the sole responsibility of political parties and therefore cautioned members from making disparaging and unfounded statements
