Igbo Day: Ohanaeze to honour Tinubu September 29th

Apex lgbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide, said that all arrangements has been concluded to honour president Bola Tinubu to mark the 2023 lgbo day celebration.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo disclosed that the historic event will be held on September 29th, 2023 in Rivers state.

A statement signed and issued on Friday by factional Secretary-general, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, said the annual event will be organised by Ohanaeze Ndigbo in remembrance of our fallen heroes and to revive the rich cultural inheritance of lgbo language.

“The Celebration will be held in Rivers State, Nigeria on September 29th 2023. The annual event is organized by the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, in remembrance of our fallen heroes, a celebration of rich cultural inheritance, the revival of the Igbo language and bringing solutions to myriads of problems facing Ndigbo.

According to Ohanaeze, The theme for the 2023 Igbo Day Celebration is “ONYE AHALA NWANNE YA,” which means “Always Be Our Brothers Keeper.”

The statement stated that the theme was chosen to reflect the importance of unity and cooperation among Igbo people.

“The 2023 Igbo Day Celebration will feature a variety of events, including prayers in all churches, youths and women programmes, lectures, and a grand finale in Port Harcourt on September 29th 2023 with a Special Traditional Honour to be bestowed on the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on the same day.

The body added that the event is expected to draw thousands of Igbo people from all over the world.

“The Celebration is a significant event for the Igbo people. It is an opportunity to come together and celebrate our culture, heritage, and language. It is also an opportunity to discuss the challenges facing our people and find solutions to those challenges.

The day is a reminder that the Igbo people are strong and resilient people. We have faced many challenges in the past, but we have always come together and overcome them. We will continue to face challenges in the future, but we will always come together and find solutions.

Highlight of the event according to the statement, is the confirmation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu with the grandly Traditional honor in Igboland, as “Enyi Ndigbo”.
