Scores of youths in Owerri, Imo State capital, stormed the streets to protest against the former governor of the state for making comments labelling those who won’t vote for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic, PDP, in next year’s presidential election as saboteurs.

Ihedioha had initially said that Nigeria’s presidency would rotate to the South-East after the administration of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, if he wins next year’s election.

However, the Imo state politician did  call those supporting Peter Obi and Labour Party saboteurs few weeks back.

Ihedioha, in the video, added that Nigeria could not afford to make mistakes in the 2023 election and that there are two parties in the election, the PDP and the All Progressives Congress.

The protesting youths under the aegis of Coalition for Peter Obi, stated that he insulted the sensitivity of the igbo people and the Labour party all together.

After barage of  attacks  against Ihedioha’s comment, the former governor of the state tendered apology to the people of the state.
