The Chairman House of Representatives Committee on Police Affairs, Hon Usman Kumo on Tuesday said the investigative hearing on insecurity in Nigeria is strictly mediatory.
In a chat with TNG the Gombe born lawmaker said “the essence of this hearing is purely to find ways and means to address the incessant killings across Nigeria.
“It’s not designed in any way to witch hunt anybody rather it’s designed to mediate with all levels of security operatives in our system.
“The rate of kidnappings, rampant killings here and there for no just reason must be curbed with immediate effect.
” As a parliament we will continue to mediate and ensure that all our security apparatuses operate with one common goal which is securing the lives and property of all Nigerians.
Present at the on-going investigative hearing are the Minister of Police Affairs and other critical stakeholders.
