Former President Goodluck Jonathan’s Works Minister, Mike Onolememen has finally dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The resignation of Onolemenmen comes on the heels of a similar action by Senator Mathew Urhoghide, the erstwhile chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriation, who has since pitch tent with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a letter dated Monday, September 25 and addressed to Mr. Michael Eromosele,Ward 4 Chairman, PDP Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State, the former minister said that he was formally informing him and the PDP that he was resigning his membership of the party with immediate effect.

Though silent on his resignation of Onolemenmen comes on the heels of a similar action by Senator Mathew Urhoghide, the erstwhile chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriation, who has since pitch tent with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He said: “I am writing to formally inform you and the PDP that I am resigning my membership of the party with immediate effect.

“After carefully analysing the protracted conflict in the party and consulting with relevant stakeholders from immediate constituency, political allies, friends and family; this decision was made.”

He continued: “I’d to use this medium to express my gratitude to everyone who has supported me since I joined the party in 1998. Please accept the assurance of my highest rewards.”

A copy of the resignation letter was forwarded to the PDP state chairman, the Senatorial Chairman, the South South Zonal Chairman and the Acting National Chairman. political move, the terse letter which was titled “Resignation Letter”, Onolemenmen cited “the protracted conflict in the party” for his decision to call it quit after being a member for 25 years.

A copy of the resignation letter was forwarded to the PDP state chairman, the Senatorial Chairman, the South South Zonal Chairman and the Acting National Chairman.
