President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, have joined other Nigerians to felicitate the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, on his 81st birthday.
In a message by his spokesman, Femi Adesina, on Thursday, Buhari rejoiced with the religious leader who left his academic career to fully commit to serving the Lord.
The president equally felicitated family, friends and other church leaders within and outside the country, thankful for Adeboye’s positive influence on people and institutions, with a focus on expanding the kingdom of God on earth.
While recalling the visits and prayers, especially when he was ill and recuperating, Buhari said he remained grateful for the friendliness and wise counsel of the general overseer over many years.
The president prayed that God would continue to bless and guide Adeboye and his family.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who is a pastor in the RCCG, celebrated Adeboye on social media on behalf of himself and wife Dolapo.
He said, “Happy Birthday to our dear Daddy @pastoreaadeboyeofficial. We pray that God Almighty will give you many many more years of service to God and humanity in good health, in peace, in joy and prosperity in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen.”
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) had earlier reported that the presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church International, aka Winners Chapel, David Oyedepo, and his wife, Faith, have congratulated Adeboye as he adds a new age today.
In an Instagram message on Thursday, Oyedepo said the RCCG leader has been an example to the body of Christ. He prayed for his longevity in the work of God.
“Happy birthday to a father, a mentor, a leader, a teacher, a man of generational impact and so much more,” the 68-year-old wrote.
“Daddy @pastoreaadeboyeofficial, we celebrate God’s grace upon your life and we are grateful for the blessing and example you are to the body of Christ.
“We wish you many many more years as you blossom in the Lord’s vineyard. Live long and prosper sir! Congratulations.”
Oyedepo’s wife posted same message on Instagram. However, she uploaded a photo of Adeboye and his wife, Foluke. Oyedepo posted a photo of Adeboye alone.
