“But suddenly this very year we qualified and I was a member of the relay team but something happened a day before the race our Physical Education teacher invited the four of us to the back of a class room.

“He asked us to stretch out on the ground and gave us six lashes each and said did you know why I gave you six lashes we responded saying no sir.

“He simply told us that by tomorrow I don’t want to hear that you lost the race or else.

” On the day of the race our first runner ran like mad and nobody caught up with him and the second guy did same and I am supposed to take the last lap as the fourth runner.

“Then suddenly when it got to the turn of the third guy his baton flew into the forest and while people were shouting up St John! up St John!! and I was busy stretching my muscles under the anointing of the cane waiting for the baton.

“Until the race ended the baton was not found and we lost the battle and all the congregants started reeling in laughter as the man started his prayer by saying this year you will never lose a battle.
