The mascot’s name, TANÍ, was inspired by the indigenous Taíno people of the Caribbean island and the name ‘Ana’, which means ‘flower’ in the Taíno language. The character, based on the Bayahibe rose—the national flower of the Dominican Republic—embodies the country’s natural beauty.

The flower motif also signifies the blossoming talent and spirit of the players, who will be the last to compete in the tournament’s biennial 16-team format before it expands to an annual 24-team competition starting in 2025.
