Arsenal’s hopes of winning their first premier League title in years have been dented after a 2-1 loss against Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Bukayo Saka’s early goal was followed by a rousing Fulham comeback, and goals from Raul Jimenez and Bobby De Cordova-Reid condemned the Gunners to fourth position.
Bernd Leno could only tip Gabriel Martinelli’s curling shot straight into the path of the onrushing Bukayo Saka who tapped home.
Fulham responded in the 29th minute when Raul Jimenez equalized for the home side, when he stretched to turn home Antonee Robinson’s cross at the back post.
The home side continued to dominate after the break despite Arteta’s decision to replace Jakub Kiwior with Takehiro Tomiyasu.
They eventually took the lead when Bobby De Cordova-Reid tapped home after a scramble at a corner.
Elsewhere at London Stadium,  Pape Matar Sarr had a contrasting experience in the Premier League, with highs and lows, as Tottenham bounced back with a 3-1 victory against Bournemouth in a thrilling matchday 20 encounter.
The result leaves Tottenham occupying the 5th position a point behind last season’s runners-up Arsenal.
Win, lose or draw on New Year’s day against Newcastle,  Liverpool will top the log for the new year.
