Mohammed Salah rescued a point for Liverpool as he converted from the penalty spot late in the game in a very  thrilling 2-2 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday evening.

The result meant that Liverpool have failed to go back to the top of the Premier League log after occupying the top spot for one full week.

The Reds needed all three points to overtake Arsenal at the summit and took the lead at Old Trafford.

Luis Diaz latched on to a loose ball in the 23rd minute to put the visitors in the lead.

However, Liverpool’s effort to add to their tally met a brick wall as they missed couple of chances in the game.

Bruno Fernandes capitalized on Quansah’s error  to smash the ball past goalie Kelleher who was already outside the 16 yard box.

Youngster Kobbie Mainoo then gave United the lead with a superb curling effort in the 56th minute to put the host into the lead.

The hosts seemed to be running away with three points until Aaron Wan-Bissaka gave away a penalty, which Mohamed Salah put away.

The draw means Jurgen Klopp’s men have 71 points, same as Arsenal, but with an inferior goal difference.
