Manchester City on Saturday climbed to the top of the Premier League log after demolishing Luton Town 5-1 at the Etihad.
Luton defender, Hashioka  scored an own goal as early as the 2nd minute to gift the host the opener and his goal separated both teams in the first half.
Upon resumption of the second half, City Midfielder, Kovacic then smashed home a beautiful goal to put the Citizens 2-0 up in the 64th minute.
The home side completely dominated the first half with 10 corners and 18 shots but they only had two goals to show for it.
Luton coach, Rob Edwards brought on striker Cauley Woodrow and he nearly reduced the deficit soon after, hitting the bar with a first-time shot.
But Pep Guardiola’s side broke Luton’s resistance with a third from a penalty after Fred Onyedinma brought down Doku.
Haaland converted from the spot for his 20th Premier League goal of the season.
Ross Barkley scored a consolation  goal for the visitors but City had the final say through brilliant late goals from Doku and Josko Gvardiol.
The result meant City will go top pending when Arsenal and Liverpool will play their 32nd premier League  game tomorrow Sunday.
With the 5-1 bashing Luton are rooted to relegation waters after dropping to 18th on the Premier League table.
