Jesse Marsch, the coach of Leeds United has revealed that the fear of relegation made his boys play their heart out against Liverpool in yesterday’s night win over the Reds.
Marsch said that Leeds United was able to beat Liverpool because his players stepped up big against the host.
An early goal and a late goal in the match ended Liverpool’s 70-match unbeaten run at Anfield in the English Premier League.
Two goals from Rodrigo Moreno and Crysencio Summerville gave Leeds all three points against Liverpool.
Mohammed Salah did score for Jurgen Klopp’s side at Anfield.
“It was good that we were able to reward ourselves. My feeling is that we shouldn’t be in the situation we are in, but we are.
“I’ve tried to stay calm but also to push. The group is strong and they are committed, so I am thankful to have them.
“They stepped up big today and they are the reason we were able to get the win.”
