Super Eagles and Napoli striker   Victor Osimhen was on Sunday evening thrown out of the club’s training following a serious altercation and protest with a teammate on the pitch.

Luciano Spalletti’s side is two days into their camp in Castel di Sangro and was going through an open 11v11 training exercise when new signing Leo Ostigard, who was selected in Osimhen’s team, was the subject of a robust challenge by Cameroon international Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa.

The Nigeria international’s appeals for a foul call fell on deaf ears, leading him to remonstrate aggressively. Despite attempts by Anguissa to placate him, Osimhen would not be mollified.

Osimhen was angered that the foul was overlooked and wouldn’t stop protesting and talking over the issue.

However, Napoli’s boss, Spalletti had to send him away for talking too much and protesting the foul.

“You talk too much. Go and take a shower.” Spalletti yelled at him

This decision did not sit well with the striker, who ripped off his bib in protest and angrily gave it to a teammate on the bench before storming into the dressing room for a shower.

Osimhen’s temperament has come under increased scrutiny recently, as only last week he was involved in a heated argument with teammate Hirving Lozano during a friendly with Perugia.

There have been offers for Osimhen from Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and Newscastle but none has seen the light of the day.

However, for now, Osimhen remains a Napoli player, and his preparations for a third year at the club are well underway as he joins his teammates in pre-season training.

Only, the Nigerian ace hasn’t exactly made positive headlines with his behavior in Napoli’s training camp as he was sent off by manager Luciano Spalletti during a public session this week.
