Transfer expert Nicolo Schira says Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has missed the influence of his former agent Mino Raiola.

Since Raiola’s passing last year, Pogba has found himself subject to an alleged blackmail plot and is now facing a lengthy ban for doping.

Schira told Radio Bianconera: “Raiola? He was very rough, but he did what was good for his players. He was very attentive: in my opinion, with Pogba, there were errors in management and superficiality.

“Regarding the operation, the player must be the one to say ‘I’ll have surgery or I won’t have surgery’. From there, many errors occurred in cascade. If he had had surgery, with the long break of the World Cup, he would have returned.

“Instead, in doing so, the problems dragged on and he had surgery the same. The season was compromised and his off-field management was also affected. He lacks an important figure who knows how to manage him and it is no coincidence that Pogba has been in difficulty in the last two years, which coincide with his illness and the passing of Mino Raiola.”
