Real Madrid now six points clear at the top of La Liga after a 5-0 win over Granada. The first goal came from Isco, as he latched onto a through ball from Karim Benzema, after Barcelona loanee Sergi Samper conceded possession in his defensive third. The second shouldn’t have stood as Benzema was offside from Luka Modric’s attempted shot, but Guillermo Ochoa spilled that effort and handed a tap-in to the French attacker.

Ronaldo doubled the lead with a heading at the back post to make it three, and the first half rout was completed by Isco, who grabbed his second, slotting the ball into the bottom corner from Modric’s excellent low cross into the box.

Granada didn’t make much of an effort in the second half either, allowing Benzema the chance to shoot 40 seconds after the restart, despite coming out in an even more defensive shape after the break.

It didn’t take long for normal service to resume and Casemiro drifted in at the back post from a corner, completely unmarked, to add Real Madrid’s fifth.
