Manchester United snapped up Alejandro Garnacho from Atletico Madrid for a bargain basement fee, it has been revealed.
Garnacho moved to United three years ago, joining the academy from Atletico’s youth team.
The Athletic reports United snapped up the Argentina U20 international for a cut-price £100,000.
United scout Gerardo Guzman identified Garnacho and recommended him to the club’s academy recruitment chief, David Harrison. Harrison in turn recommended the signing to technical director John Murtough.
Murtough approved the deal, with United closing the deal three years ago.
