UCL: Manchester United, Newcastle exit competition as 16 teams qualify for second round

Following the last group stage  round of matches that took place on Wednesday across or centers in Europe, all 16 teams that will feature in the second round of the competition have emerged.

Manchester United and Newcastle United finished bottom of their groups and will be heading home to prepare for next season.

The teams left in the competition are Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Manchester City, Arsenal, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Real Sociedad and Atlético Madrid.

Others are PSG, Inter Milan, Lazio, Napoli, FC Porto, RB Leipzig, FC Copenhagen and PSV.

UEFA will conduct the draw for the last 16 on Monday, December 18. The teams in Pot 1 will be paired against those in Pot 2.

Clubs from the same country cannot face each other. Neither can they play the teams they faced during the group stages.
