Jamie Vardy ended a 741-minute goal drought without a Premier League goal in spectacular fashion, putting EPL managers on alert to his renewed potential.
The Leicester forward who has not scored for the club since September was on fire over the weekend when he scored the first hat-trick of his career against Manchester City.
In 20 games this season, he has only registered his name on the score sheet just three times and one of those came in the Community Shield against Manchester United.
Vardy has been a far cry from the player he was last season, this time last season he just banged in his 14th league goal, netting against the Red Devils to break Ruud van Nistelrooy’s record of scoring in Eleven consecutive Premier League games.
Leicester City travels to AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday night before facing Stoke City, Everton, West Ham United and Middlesbrough in their following four outings.
Claudio Ranieri insists it is fundamental that Leicester City gets a positive result at AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday night to continue the momentum created by the victory against Manchester City.
“For us, it’s very important not to lose there and not to lose at Stoke because we want to keep this momentum in the right way.
“I expect a battle and a lot of skill because they move the ball very well. It’s a good team who play always together and it will be another big battle.”
The Foxes boss continued: “After Man City, it is not easy. We made this kind of performance because I changed all my players.
“Only Wes Morgan played in Porto. Let me see how they react, how they recover, and then I will choose who is ready to play in Bournemouth.
“One change I have to do but let me think and coach before the match. In the summer I said to Jamie ‘made this dream true, stay with us and keep going because we want to continue to dream’.
“Now he has started to sleep and dream, it’s good.
“If you lose the next two matches, you forget this great performance. For us, it is fundamental to get points from Bournemouth and Stoke. They will be big battles but with these warriors, I am very confident.”
