Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta says they’re trying to convince Eddie Nketiah to sign a new contract.
With his deal to expire in June, Nketiah hit a hat-trick in their Carabao Cup quarterfinal win against Sunderland last night.
Arteta said this morning: “We are trying really hard.
“His contract has an expiry date and you can’t control that.
“His genuine intention is that he wants to play football and that’s what’s driving whatever decision he’s going to take, but he’s obviously a player we want to keep.
“We try to give all the arguments that we can, to himself and his people.
“With the way he is training and performing he deserves more minutes.”
