Lagos state govt launches Citizens Gate mobile app

The government of Lagos state has recently launched a mobile app, dubbed Citizens Gate that will enable the people of the State reach out conveniently to the government of the State with feedbacks for good governance.

Lagos state commissioner for Science and technology, Olufemi Odubiyi, at the launch of the Citizens Gate app said this is another effort by the government of Akinwunmi Ambode get the people to contribute to governance.

Speaking at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre in Alausa, the commissioner said that “Citizens Gate is an integrated web and mobile-based platform through which Lagos State’s citizens can lodge feedback to the State Government on various services provided, receive quick responses on services as well as interact with government officials via web and mobile phone”.

The compact app which is about 1.6MB in size has a segment for feedback; a segment that contains all ministries, departments and agencies websites; a segment for online payments for State services and a segment that contains local government and local council development area addresses.

Odubiyi said “The platform is designed to promote communication and connectivity between citizens and government while it will also enable citizens to inform the government on problems and issues occurring in their areas, communities and beyond”.
