Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele, has finally explained why her marriage to rapper cum filmmaker, JJC Skillz, failed

Funke said their vision and dreams of how the marriage should work stopped aligning and efforts to work toward restoring the relationship failed.

The actress-turned-politician, who recently premiered her latest film “Battle on Buka Street” spoke in an interview, where she narrated why her second marriage ended.

“Well, the truth is our dreams and vision of what our marriage should be just no longer aligned. And efforts to make it work all fell on deaf ears, so why hang around,” Funke asserted.

TheNewsGuru.com recalls, that JJC Skillz, whose real name is Abdulrasheed Bello, announced his separation from Funke in an Instagram post on Thursday, June 30.

JJC Skillz disclosed that the last two years had been difficult for them and he tried his best to make things work. He added that Funke asked him to leave their matrimonial home three months prior to the post.

The 45-year-old noted that he was making the announcement to clear the air and make it known to the public that they have decided to go their separate ways.

He wrote: “Dear Friends and family I need to let you know that Funke and I have separated. While it lasted we shared a lot of things together and have created 2 beautiful children. The last two years have been extremely difficult for us. I know I have tried my best to fix things but I believe it is beyond repair now.”

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that Funke got married to JJC Skillz in London in May 2016 and welcomed their twin boys in December 2018. The actress celebrated her 45th birthday on August 24th, 2022 and JJC Skillz showered encomiums on her despite the separation.

JJC Skillz is a Nigerian songwriter, rapper, record and television producer.

JJC Skillz earned recognition in Nigeria after the release of his single We Are Africans, an afrobeat anthem. Prior to the success of “We are Africans”, JJC Skillz was a producer for the British hip-hop record company and musical group Big Brovaz.

In December 2002, he released his debut album, Atide, an experimental album with lyrics in English and Nigerian languages and influenced by hip hop, African and salsa musical styles.. He co-produced with Funke, “Industreet” a television show about the Nigerian music industry
