Super Eagles Kelechi Iheanacho and Alex Iwobi are set to clash at the Etihad this afternoon as Manchester City host Arsenal in an English Premier League cracker.
The match which will kick off at 5pm Nigerian time will showcase the best of Iheanacho and Iwobi who have both dominated headlines for the senior national team in recent times face off as their respective clubs aim to keep the pace with EPL leaders Chelsea.
The two players have been vital for Gernot Rohr’s side which currently leads group B of the African world cup qualifying round ahead of Algeria, Cameroun and Zambia.
Iheanacho apart from scoring in four consecutive matches for Eagles against Mali, Luxembourg, Tanzania and Zambia has equally been impressive for his English club side City in the past year where he also holds the record for the best goal scoring ratio by any City player in history.
While Iwobi scored Nigeria’s first goal of the 2018 Mundial World Cup qualifying campaign away to Zambia in Ndola two months ago and has been in sizzling form for EPL club Arsenal where he also netted his first UEFA Champions League goal against Basel two weeks ago.
Former Eagles midfielder Dahiru Sadi believes it will be interesting to see how the two influential players do in such a big and highly anticipated game adding that high profile matches such as this enhances players confidence and abilities.
