23-year-old Nigerian singer, Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has insinuated that he is on the same level as Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy.
The trio of Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido are widely regarded as Nigeria’s biggest Afrobeats artists in the world and are jointly referred to as the “Big 3.”
Rema is now laying claims to the elite list. In a recent X post, the ‘Calm Down’ crooner asserted that he is now in that league when he wrote: “No more Big 3 there’s now a Big 4.”
His post elicited mixed reactions, with many concurring with him while others insisted that despite his stream and chart successes, he needs years of consistency to earn it.
Rema referred to as golden boy of Nigerian music has gone from Benin City to locales as diverse as Curaçao, the Norwegian city of Tønsberg, and three cities in India, where he became the first Nigerian artist to complete a sold-out tour.
