Acclaimed young Nigerian literary prodigy, Tomi Adeyemi has made it to the zenith on the New York Times bestseller list for her book ‘Children of Blood and Bone’.
The first time author’s novel has been featured on the children’s bestseller list.
According to The Guardian: “An author’s note tells us Children of Blood and Bone was born out of anger, and Adeyemi has channelled this into the best sort of book: a hugely enjoyable escapist story that makes you re-examine the world around you. It is a miraculous achievement. Just prepare yourself for a vicious cliffhanger at the end – and the wait for book two”.
The talented author made the news of her feat known on Twitter saying she made the bestsellers list exactly a year after she clinched her publishing deal.
“A year ago today I got to shout that I was going to be a published author,” she said.
“Today you guys made #ChildrenofBloodandBone number 1 again. To everybody who’s supported this story in any way, I can’t say thank you enough.”
‘Children of Blood and Bone’ is expected to spawn a movie trilogy. Temple Hill’s Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey are said to be producing the trilogy with Karen Rosenfelt.
Adeyemi while on “Good Morning America” said recently that her Nigerian heritage played a huge role in shaping her debut novel, “The Children of Blood And Bone.”
She describes the epic fantasy series as “Black Panther but with magic”
