Nigerian rapper and Chocolate City Music chairman, Jude Abaga a.k.a Ice Prince has revealed that he didn’t believe Ice Prince ‘Oleku’ was going to be a hit song.
‘Oleku’ is an Afro-pop tune released by Ice Prince in 2010 with vocals from Brymo. The song spread like wildfire, becoming fans favourite in no time.
However, M.I told Ice Prince as at the time the song was meant to be released that he didn’t think it was the song he was supposed to put out at that moment.
Speaking in a chat with Net TV, he said: “Ice Prince always tried things that people didn’t try. His first song is Oleku, his second song is ‘Super star’, there is no correlation between both of them.
Ice Prince has always been unafraid to do what people weren’t doing. Ice Prince isn’t going to stop innovating because he makes any one uncomfortable, he is won’t also stop because people feel he has failed.
“When Ice Prince recorded ‘Oleku’, I told him I didn’t think this was the song he should put out and I was wrong”
