Nigerian Afro-pop vocalist, Simi has urged her fans to stay indoors as part of the precautionary measures needed to fight coronavirus.
Simi made this known while reacting to a fan who criticized her for not being involved in online giveaways like other celebrities.
She wrote on Twitter:” At the end of the day, I cannot make anybody do anything they don’t want to do. I don’t have to come on here and say anything. I can lock my family inside and shut up and wait for it to pass. I’m not the enemy. PS: I do know what’s going on. That’s why I’m still talking.
“You can keep talking about people that don’t have. I ALREADY KNOW! But if u don’t stay inside now for a few weeks, you will stay inside for much longer. You will have to. That’s the only way every other country is handling it. Hunger or not, u WILL stay inside. But now is safer
“I acknowledge my privilege, but they should stay inside. I always speak on the ills of society, of the government – so I can’t be guilt-tripped. Even if I could be, I don’t mind. Just stay inside. Drink garri if you must, but stay inside. Stay alive. Thank you”.
