Popular Nollywood actress, Grace Amah who recently staged a comeback to Nollywood has shared her thoughts on the current state of the movie industry.The beautiful single mother of one said actors of then show more commitment to the craft, compared to actress of this generation.
Speaking in an interview with Broadway TV, she said: “The difference between Nollywood of then and now is that in Nollywood of then, there was commitment. Back then, there was love and we looked out for each other, there was unity. But now, its more of a commercial thing where everyone is just about the business side of it. You don’t really care about what the other person is up to because there is a lot of competition right now.These days its about being the highest paid and getting endorsements. I am looking for that period where we had love in the industry.
Majority of the new actors don’t care if you are older In the industry or just just joined the industry. We should be able to respect those who were there before us, those who are our older colleagues. I get to the location at the call time but the new actors stroll in whenever they feel like. May be its because they get the support of the producer or director on their side”.
